Cookiva is developed by Become Labs. This Privacy Policy explains how Cookiva handles information when you use the app.
Cookiva may ask for preferences such as household size, food style, dietary needs, ingredients you avoid, country or region, and notification time. In the current version, these preferences are primarily stored locally on your device so Cookiva can personalize recipe suggestions.
When you choose to scan ingredients, Cookiva sends the photo you capture or select to Cookiva's cloud service and an AI service provider so the visible food ingredients can be identified. Cookiva does not use these photos for advertising and does not intentionally store scan photos in its own database after the scan is processed. Service providers may process limited technical data as necessary to provide and secure the service.
If you choose a meal photo for Cookiva's sharing features, the app accesses only the photo you select or capture for that action. Sharing is initiated by you through your device's sharing tools.
Cookiva may store information locally on your device, including saved recipes, cooking history, likes, "Not today" feedback, onboarding choices, scan usage, and other preference signals used to improve recommendations for you.
If you enable notifications, Cookiva may schedule reminders such as your daily cooking prompt. You can change notification permissions through your device settings.
Cookiva does not sell your personal information. We do not use your ingredient scan photos for third-party advertising.
Cookiva may use infrastructure and AI service providers to operate features such as photo ingredient recognition. These providers process information only as needed to provide the relevant service and are subject to their own security and privacy obligations.
Most personalization data in the current version is stored locally on your device. Removing the app or using Cookiva's available reset controls may remove local personalization data. Scan entitlement or usage information may be retained separately where necessary to operate plan limits and prevent abuse.
Cookiva is a general-audience cooking app and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by Cookiva. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Cookiva adds features such as accounts, subscriptions, or additional cloud services. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
